GREENVILLE, Pa. (Pct. 30, 2009) – The Thiel College women’s soccer team closed out its 2009 season on Friday with a, 2-0, setback to Geneva College at Alumni Stadium.
The Golden Tornadoes (9-8) fired all 16 shots in the match, 12 of which were on goal.
Thiel junior keeper Jill Harry (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) made 10 stops on the afternoon, including a six save shutout of Geneva in the second half. Entering the regular season’s final weekend of play, Harry leads the conference in save percentage (.900) and saves (181), while ranking second in saves per game (12.07).
As of Oct. 25, Harry also ranked eighth in all of NCAA D-III in save percentage.
Thiel ends its season at 2-15-2 with an 0-7 mark in PAC play.
