BETHLEHEM, Pa. (Nov. 14, 2009) – The Thiel College men's cross country team wrapped up its 2009 campaign on Saturday with a 21st place finish in a field of 45 teams at the NCAA Mideast Regional Championship.
Sophomore
Richard Peterson (Cochranton, Pa./Meadville) (Meadville, Pa./Meadville) paced the Tomcats with a 68th place time of 26:46.3 on the eight kilometer course.
Junior
Alex Bent (Oak Hill, VA/Westfield) (Oak Hill, Va./Westfield) and sophomore
Brendan Dulaney (New Windsor, Md./Westminster) finished 119th and 126th, respectively. Bent ran a time of 27:36.9, while Dulaney compiled a 27:41.4.
In fourth place for Thiel, with a 134th-place time of 27:46.4, was freshman
Regis Wagner (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) followed by junior
Bryan Montozzi (Stoneboro, Pa./Lakeview) (Stoneboro, Pa./Lakeview), who secured 175th place with a 28:35.2 effort.
Completing the Tomcat entry were senior
Ben Moran (Bradford, Pa./Bradford) (Bradford, Pa./Bradford) who was 193rd with a time of 28:59.1 and sophomore
Sam Slaven (Lowellville, Ohio/Lowellville) (Lowellville, Ohio/Lowellville) who earned 195th place with a time of 29:01.6.
