Thiel women place 37th at regionals

BETHLEHEM, Pa. (Nov. 14, 2009) – The Thiel College women’s cross country team completed its 2009 season with a 37th place finish in a field of 44 teams at the NCAA Mideast Regional Championship on Saturday.
Sophomore Tiffany Blosser (Fairchance, Pa./Albert Gallatin) paced the Tomcats with a 158th place time of 25:25.2 on the six kilometer course.
Senior Rebecca Walton (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas) and sophomore Tara Sturey (Cochranton, Pa./Cochranton) finished 208th and 228th, respectively. Walton ran a time of 26:38.9, while Sturey compiled a 27:18.4.
In fourth place for Thiel, with a 255th-place time of 28:29.8, was freshman Satbyul Park followed by sophomore Lynnette Enterline (New Waterford, Ohio/Crestview), who secured 260th place with a 29:05.8 effort.
Completing the Tomcat entry were senior Sarah McAfee (Butler, Pa./Butler) who was 264th with a time of 29:24.7 and freshman Clare Rech (Austintown, Ohio/Fitch) who earned 282nd place with a time of 33:31.2.
