Edinboro, Pa. (November 24, 2009) -- In an evening marred by turnovers, the Thiel College women's basketball team fell, 47-95, to the Division II, Edinboro Fighting Scots.
It was trouble from the start for the visiting Tomcats, as the Fighting Scots jumped out to a 47-9 lead in the first half and never looked back.
Along with being held to a little over 33 percent shooting from the field, the Tomcats also committed a season-high 49 turnovers compared to Edinboro's 18.
Three Thiel players finished the game with double figures in the scoring column. Sophomore guard,
Kacey Landis (Williamsfield, Ohio/Pymatuning Valley) and freshman,
Kelly Barzack (Warren, Ohio/Howland) led all Tomcat scorers with 12, while
Ashley Davis (Cleveland, Ohio/St. Peter Chanel) (Cleveland, Ohio/St. Peters Chanel) added 11.
The women of Thiel College basketball return to action Saturday, November 28 for the first game of the Marietta Turkey Shootout against the College of Mount St. Joseph for a 6:00 p.m. match up.
