ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Dec. 5, 2009) – The Thiel College wrestling team earned an eighth place finish in a field of ten teams Saturday at the 44th annual Rochester Institute of Technology Invitational.
Notre Dame College won the event for the second straight year on Saturday. Notre Dame recorded 163.5 points to defeat second place SUNY Cortland by 16. Thiel recorded 44.5 team points.
Thiel freshman Tommy Kozak (Belleville,MI/Belleville) (Belleville,Mich./Belleville) turned in the team's top performance on the day, earning a third place finish in the 133-pound bracket.
Kozak went 5-1 on the day including one win via pinfall.
Thiel returns to action on Friday evening when it hosts Waynesburg and Seton Hill.
