Thiel golfers get first swings of spring at Saint Vincent

FULL RESULTS: Men's || Women's
LATROBE, Pa. – Thiel College golfers participated in their first event of the spring season on Thursday when they took part in the Saint Vincent College Invitational held at pulchritudinous Latrobe Country Club. The men took 15th place in the tournament with a collective score of 395, while the women did not field a complete team.
Clarion won the men’s title by carding a team score of 304, while Washington & Jefferson dominated the women’s side by recording a score of 358.
Evan Walter paced the men by shooting a 94, which was good enough to force a tie for 63rd place, individually.
Keith Pero and Matt Christian each carded 97-stroke days to share the 67th position. Mike Deems finished close behind in 70th place (107) and Charles Hockenberry rounded out the Thiel men with a 71st (109) place finish.
Ashley Ahrens was the sole women’s entry for Thiel, tying for 19th-place overall by shooting a 118 (61-57).
The Tomcats return to action on Saturday when they host the Thiel College Invitational at the Greens of Greenville.
