FULL RESULTS - Men's | Women's

ERIE, Pa. (Sept. 19, 2009)—
The Thiel College cross country teams continued their seasons Saturday as the men's and women's squads took part in the Penn State-Behrend Invitational. The men put on a particularly strong performance, finishing in fourth place out of 15 teams. The women turned in an eighth place finish in a field of 12 teams.
Freshman Regis Wagner (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) led Thiel with a time of 27:14, to place 13th individually. Sophomore Brendan DuLaney (New Windsor, Md./Westminster) was close behind, posting a breakthrough 19th-place, 27:44 finish. Rounding out Thiel's top-25 finishers was junior Alex Bent (Oak Hill, VA/Westfield), who cruised to a 23rd-place time of 27:58.
Sophomore Richard Peterson (Cochranton, Pa./Meadville) (32nd place/28:44), freshman Chris Healy (39th/29:29), junior Bryan Montozzi (Stoneboro, Pa./Lakeview) (41st/29:33), and senior Ben Moran (Bradford, Pa./Bradford) (47th/29:42) also contributed to the solid outing.
Sophomore Tiffany Blosser (Fairchance/Albert Gallatin) retained her position as the Thiel women's frontrunner, claiming 37th place individually with a time of 26:54.
Sophomore Tara Sturey (Cochranton, Pa./Cochranton), senior Rebecca Walton (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas), senior Sarah McAfee (Butler/Butler) and freshman Clare Rech (Austintown, Ohio/Austintown-Fitch) rounded out the Thiel scorers. Sophomore Lynette Enterline and freshman Satbyul Park (Korea/) also competed for the Tomcats.
“We had a lot of improvements since the Westminster meet, with some people running a season-best time by over a minute,” said Thiel head coach Kevin Pool.  “However, we still have a lot of improvement to make before the PAC Championships. “
Thiel will preview the championship courses next weekend when it visits Saint Vincent for the school's invitational meet.
