NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. (Sept. 5, 2009)
– The Thiel College men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Westminster College Fisher Invitational on Saturday, with the men finishing in third place among 11 teams and the women turning in an eighth place finish in a field of 11.
On the men's side, Thiel had three runners turn in top-25 times. Regis Wagner (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) led the way with a third-place, overall, time of 27:13.1. Alex Bent (Oak Hill, VA/Westfield) (28:06.5) and Brendan DuLaney (New Windsor, Md./Westminster) (28:11.4) finished in 10th and 11th place, respectively.
Tiffany Blosser (Fairchance/Albert Gallatin) paced the women with a 39th place finish, overall. She recorded a time of 27:24.1 on the six kilometer course.
“Overall, I was very pleased with how they ran,” said Thiel head coach Kevin Pool.  “Our times were much faster this year than at this meet last year, so I'm looking forward to seeing the team's progress in the weeks ahead.”
Thiel has an off-weekend coming up followed by the Penn State Behrend Invitational on Sept. 19.
