RESULTS
LEXINGTON,VA. (March 27, 2010) -- Thiel College 400-meter specialist,
Alex Eaton (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep.), led the way for the men's and women's track and field teams at the Washington and Lee Track and Field Carnival on Saturday.
The Erie, Pa. native took first place in the 400 with a time of 48.83, a mere .33 off of qualifying provisionally for outdoor nationals. Eaton, along
Derek Workman (Valencia, Pa./Mars),
Ethan Rowe (Fairmont City, Pa./Redbank Valley), and
Nick Youngblood (Hadley, Pa./Greenville), also earned a third place finish in the 4x400-meter relay.
On the women's side,
Brittany Brown (Pelham, N.Y./Pelham Memorial) and
Latoya Locke (Farrell, Pa./Farrell) placed second and third, respectively, in the 100-meter hurdles, while
Cassidy Kravec (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) finished fourth in the javelin.
Brown also finished fourth in the high jump, with
Joy Metzler (Industry, Pa./Western Beaver) ending her day with a fourth place finish in the shot put.
The Track 'Cats return to action Saturday, April 3, when the compete at the Jack Hazen Open in Canton, Ohio.
