RESULTS
GROVE CITY, PA. (May 1, 2010) – The Thiel College men’s and women’s track and field teams finished fourth and fifth, respectively, at the PAC Outdoor Championships on Saturday, with Alex Eaton (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep.) and Brittany Brown (Pelham, N.Y./Pelham Memorial) capturing PAC titles.
Brown led the way for the Tomcats, earning titles in the 100-meter high hurdles and the long jump. The Pelham, N.Y. native finished the high hurdles with a time of 15.39, and leapt a personal best, 5.29-meters, in the long jump. Brown also earned third place in the high jump.
Senior athlete, LaToya Locke (Farrell, Pa./Farrell), earned second and third place finishes in the 100-meter high hurdles and triple jump, respectively, while Joy Metzler (Industry, Pa./Western Beaver) brought home second in the shot put. Cassidy Kravec (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) placed third in the javelin throw.
On the men’s side, Eaton placed first in the 400-meter dash with a season best time of 48.79, to go along with a season best time in the 200-meter dash of 22.97, which was good enough for a second place finish.
Ethan Rowe (Fairmont City, Pa./Redbank Valley) and Richard Peterson (Meadville, Pa./Meadville) earned second place finishes in the 400-meter dash and 5000-meter run, respectively, while Brendan Dulaney (New Windsor, Md./Westminster) (1,500-meter run), Derek Workman (Valencia, Pa./Mars) (800-meter), and Regis Wagner (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) (3000-meter steeplechase) all picked up third place finishes in their respective events.
Rowe, Eaton, and Workman, along with Nick Youngblood (Hadley, Pa./Greenville) also took second place in the 4x100-meter relay, with a time of 43.41.
