NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Thiel women's cross country team finished in eighth place with 176 points at Saturday's 2011 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Cross Country Championship, hosted by Westminster College.
Grove City College won the team title, its 25th straight, as the Wolverines finished with 38 points. Waynesburg University finished second with 83 and Westminster College was third with 103. Saint Vincent College's Ivette Mejia was the individual title winner as she posted her second-straight individual conference championship.
Valerie White (Pittsburgh, Pa./Langley) paced the Tomcats as she finished in 22nd place with a time of 25:49.20.
Kristin Diegan (Hermitage, Pa./Hickory) was 36th with a time of 26:59.00 and
Emily Petrak (Butler, Pa./Butler) was 40th with a time of 27:10.10.
Lynsay Girts (North East, Pa./North East) finished 41st (27:15.30), followed by
Clare Rech (Austintown, Ohio/Austintown-Fitch) in 55th (28:15.90) and
Emily Howard (Erie, Pa./Northwest Pa. Collegiate Academy ) in 83rd (31:27.20).
Thiel will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 12 at the NCAA Division III Mid-East Regional Championships, which will be hosted by DeSales University in Center Valley, Pa.
