Tomcat defensive end Tim Taylor (Girard, Pa./Erie Cathedral Prep) has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District IV first team, announced the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of American (CoSIDA) Thursday afternoon. Taylor is majoring in Biology.
 
With a 3.51 GPA, Taylor has appeared in all nine games, accumulating 63 total tackles (48 solo, 15 assists) and has had 11 sacks for a loss of 50 yards.  So far, he has had broken up three plays and has had three defended passes.
 
With one game remaining, Taylor stands at 21.5 tackles for loss, which surpasses Williams Hasse's 19.5 mark set in 2008.  In the PAC, Taylor is currently ranked first in both sacks and tackles for loss and twelfth in total tackles.
 
With being selected as a first team honoree, Taylor will be considered for Academic All-American status.  The national ballot for All-American begins next Tuesday, November 15.
