CENTER VALLEY, Pa. — The Thiel College women's cross country team ran to a 39th place finish out of 47 teams at the NCAA Mideast Regional Championships hosted by DeSales University on Saturday in Center Valley, Pa.
Sophomore
Valerie White (Pittsburgh, Pa./Langley) paced the paced the Tomcats as she came in 95th place with a total time of 25:25.00. Other Tomcat finishers included
Emily Petrak (Butler, Pa./Butler) at 197 (27:06), Kristen Diegan at 218 (27:30),
Lynsay Girts (North East, Pa./North East) at 234 (27:53) and
Clare Rech (Austintown, Ohio/Austintown-Fitch) (29:41) and
Emily Howard (Erie, Pa./Northwest Pa. Collegiate Academy ) (31:42) placed 279th and 298th respectively.
The winner of the event was Taylor Ludman of Dickinson College who came in with a time of 22:33 and the overall team winner was Johns Hopkins who finished with 78 points with Dickinson College taking second with 99 points. The top two finishing teams received automatic bids to the NCAA Cross Country National Championships, which will be hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Osh Kosh.
