Hritz Claims Title in High Jump, Highlights Tomcats’ Performance at PAC Championships

BETHANY, W.Va. – Bobby Hritz (North Royalton, Ohio/North Royalton) captured the individual title in the men's high jump, highlighting the efforts of the Thiel College track and field squad at the 2011 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Track & Field Championship Saturday at Bethany College's Bison Stadium.

The Thiel men finished seventh with 36 points while the women placed sixth with three. The Tomcats finished with four all-PAC performers (finished in top three).

Hritz's winning jump of 6-2 was two inches better than second-place finishers Ken Barrows of Bethany and Shane Peterson of Westminster. He also added to a terrific day by finishing third in the 110-meter high hurdles (16.61).

Ethan Rowe (Fairmont City, Pa./Redbank Valley) notched a second-place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.27. Richard Peterson (Cochranton, Pa./Meadville) also claimed a second-place finish, finishing with a time of 15:15.69 in the 5,000-meter run.

Scott Stano (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep.) registered a sixth-place finish in the javelin with a throw of 156-06 while Brendan DuLaney (New Windsor, Md./Westminster) and Regis Wagner (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) finished fifth and sixth, respectively, in the 1,500-meter run. DuLaney crossed the line with a time of 4:11.86 while Wagner completed the event with a time of 4:13.16. Derek Workman (Valencia, Pa./Mars) was eighth in the 800-meter run, finishing with a time of 2:02.92.

On the women's side Moriah Monroe (Youngstown, Ohio/Fitch) was sixth in the 100-meter high hurdles with a time of 17.17. Valerie White (Pittsburgh, Pa./Langley) claimed a sixth-place finish in the 10,000-meter run (41:32.95) while Cassidy Kravec (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) was sixth in the javelin with a throw of 110-02.
