OBERLIN, Ohio – The women's cross country team finished 23rd at Saturday's Oberlin College Inter-Regional Rumble, as freshman sensation
Meri Steinmetz (Raritan, N.J./Bridgewater- Raritan) continued to impress, breaking the school-record in the 6k on Saturday.
The host Yeowomen claimed the team title with 65 points.
Washington and Jefferson's Kristin Galligan earned the individual title, crossing the line in 21:09.3.
Steinmetz led all Tomcat runners, finishing 80th in the 270 competitor field with a school-record time of 23:12.6.
Steph Felix was the next to cross the finish line for Thiel, finishing 155th (24:25.8), followed by
Valerie White (Pittsburgh, Pa./Langley) in 162th (24:30.1) and
Emily Petrak (Butler, Pa./Butler) in 186th (24:58.9).
Megan Kidder (Worthington, Pa./Kitanning) finished 201st (25:15.1) followed by
Julie Ziroli in 238th (26:55.0).Claire Rech (28:32.7) and
Emily Howard (Erie, Pa./Northwest Pa. Collegiate Academy ) (31:43.3) also competed for Thiel.
The Tomcat cross country teams return to action on Saturday, Oct. 27 at the 2012 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships, which will be hosted by Bethany College.
